Those who install a wireless home security camera do so for varying reasons. While it is difficult to say which reason is most valid, it is important to know what kinds of options you have with these cameras. Some of the options include:

• Motion-activated – Some people do not exactly want to have to look through hours of tape just to be able to see one event that happened. If the camera is set up in an area where there typically is not a lot of movement, the camera can switch on only when there is movement in the area. Once the movement stops, the camera turns off.

• Intervals – In another effort to save tape or memory, a wireless home security camera can be set up to take photos once every few seconds or few minutes. This is easier on the tape budget, but still allows you to monitor what is going on at regular intervals.

A wireless home security camera could have a different use for each user. These cameras are great items to have regardless of what your exact goal for use of them is.
