Home alarms can give you an added sense of security. Alarm lock systems might be your first level of defense against an intruder who has already snuck past security cameras. If anybody tampers with your lock, a loud noise would go off or a signal would be sent to a monitoring service.

Home alarms can also notify authorities or frighten a burglar if they are inside your home. Burglar alarms use motion detectors to detect a foreign presence. Like lock alarms, a burglar alarm can be said to omit a loud noise or to silently contact authorities.

Home alarms are also an invaluable asset for protecting your house against the threat of fire. Fire alarms can include detectors for heat, smoke and carbon monoxide.
